Title: Gradient flow for image processing

Abstract: In this introductory talk,  I will demo (via MatLab) how to use heat equation and affine curvature flow equation for image denoising.  Chan-Vese type equation for image segmentation will also be showed. The fundamental principle for these methods are all based on minimizing the corresponding cost energy functionals. Level set method is used to develop the algorithm for image denoising based on affine flow, as well as for image segmentation.
