On a cross-diffusion system: I. global existence, II. asymptotic behavior

Speaker: Youshan Tao, Department of Applied Mathematics, Donghua University, Shanghai 200051, taoys@dhu.edu.cn

Abstract: This work studies the Shigesada-Kawasaki-Teramoto model with cross-diffusion for one species. In the presence of self-diffusion for the species with cross-diffusion and assuming that the space dimension is less than ten, for any regular initial data we establish the global existence and uniform boundedness of classical solutions to the model with no-flux boundary conditions in bounded convex domains. Moreover, under suitable assumptions on the model parameters, it is shown that the species with cross-diffusion will outcompete the other in a large time limit. This talk is a joint work with Michael Winkler.
